LCWU 16th Convocation: Dr Fauzia rejects to receive PhD degree from Shahbaz Gill

LAHORE (National Times) – Associate professor and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) student Dr Fauzia rejected to receive degree from Special Assistant to Prime Minster (SAPM) Shahbaz Gill on the 16th annual convocation of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU).

According to details, LCWU had invited SAPM as Chief Guest on second day of the 16th convocation ceremony.

It is pertinent to mention here that the associate professor political science Samanabad College was supposed to receive the PhD degree from Shahbaz while she tweeted her opinion of not receiving it from him.

In the tweet she stated that Shahbaz Gill does not deserve to be considered as Chief Guest of the convocation ceremony, therefore she will not receive her PhD degree from SAPM.

In response to associate professor’s tweet, the Prime Minister’s aid said that Pakistan is a democratic country where every citizen holds right of sharing their perspective. He went on to add that Dr Fauzia is a relative of Saad Rafique.

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor (VC) LCWU Bushra Mirza said that in her opinion SAPM Shahbaz Gill was the well deserving personality to be attributed as Chief Guest of the convocation ceremony of LCWU. Everyone has their own opinion hence one can simply not force others to believe in one perspective.
