PDM has been asked to change protest date from Mar 23: Sh Rashid

ISLAMABAD (National Times) – Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on Monday has said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has been asked to change the date of protest from March 23 due to parade in copnne Pakistan Day.

Talking to media, the minister said that opposition parties have been clarified that they will be responsible if any untoward incident will occur on March 23. No action will be taken against you if you won’t take law in your hands, Sheikh Rashid said to PDM leaders.

Meanwhile, the interior minister said that the cyber-crime wing will be further strengthened to meet the emerging challenges as more resources will be provided to them.

He said that the projects of mother and child hospital in Rawalpindi, Nullah Leh and Ring Road will be completed in the present tenure of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s government.

He said eighty to ninety percent work on mother and child hospital Rawalpindi has been completed and Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate it on February 28, next year.

Earlier, Sheikh Rashid said that PDM’s decision of ‘mehgayi march’ on Pakistan Day is wrong, therefore, the date must be changed as routes to Islamabad will be closed before March 23.

“The opposition called for a long march on Pakistan Day. As it is a national issue, I invite the opposition to think about it. Some routes in Islamabad will be closed because of March 23 parade. The opposition has set a wrong date for the long march,” he stated.

The minister expressed hope that Imran Khan will be control inflation in four months.
