Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has condemned the PTI-government’s pre-planned campaign of harassment against Asma Shirazi

KARACHI / ISLAMABAD(National Times): Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has condemned the PTI-government’s pre-planned campaign of harassment against female journalist and anchorperson Asma Shirazi.

According to a statement issued from Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman PPP said that the selected-rulers must know that Pakistan’s entire journalist fraternity is united and standing firmly with Asma Shirazi.

He said that Asma Shirazi’s matter is not issue of an individual as gagging the dissent voices has become the selected-government’s way of life, adding that it was unfortunate that the nation is suffering from the worst inflation while the government is campaigning to tarnish the image of a female journalist. “The truth-fearing government wants to stifle the voices of the people through bullying, intimidation and coercion”, he added.

He further said that instead of solving people’s problems, attacks on journalists are a sign that the incumbent regime has no solution to the crisis the country is faced with.
