New York(National Times): Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Chairman Shehryar Afridi was allegedly interrogated for hours under security protocol at Jan Kennedy Airport, New York, credible sources said on Friday.
After hours long interrogation, he was allowed to enter New York but with the intervention of Pakistan’s consulate.
The sources said that Shehryar Afridi is visiting New York on the invitation of a non-development organization operate by overseas Pakistanis.
As the Kashmir committee chairman landed at Jan Kennedy Airport, the airport security officials took him with and interrogated for three hours. But yet, the security officials could not satisfy and decided to deport Shehryar Afridi. However, he was allowed to approach Pakistani consulate and on the assurance of the consulate officer he was allowed to enter the city.
It is pertinent to mention here that the chairman Kashmir Committee allegedly kept the Pakistani Embassy in New York unaware about his visit to United States.
Online correspondent tried to approach Shehryar Afridi, however he didn’t respond. The Pakistani Consulate also avoided commenting when the concerned officer was approach for comment.
