Pakistan, Tajikistan vow to enhance defence cooperation

ISLAMABAD(National times)- Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan is committed to promoting peace, stability, and cooperation across the region, particularly with Central Asian states. He expressed these view in a meeting with Defence Minister of Tajikistan Colonel General Sobirzoda Emomali Abdulrahim in Islamabad on Thursday, said a press release. Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of all issues and appreciates the efforts of Tajikistan in promoting peace and stability in the region. During the meeting, matters related to bilateral defence cooperation, besides exploring new avenues of enhancement in defence cooperation, were discussed. Colonel General Sobirzoda Emomali expressed best wishes for the military and civil leadership of Tajikistan. Tajik Defence Minister assured his government’s commitment and pledged to work with Pakistan to strengthen bilateral ties.
