Constitutional amendment not made to benefit any individual: Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD(National times)- Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, on Wednesday said that the recent constitutional amendment was not made for the benefit of any individual or political agenda. Speaking to the media, Rana Sanaullah said that constitutional positions are respected all over the world. He said that it is not wrong to show respect for the Presidents and the Prime Ministers. He further said that if a President lives a retired life, there is nothing wrong in granting immunity to him. However, if a retired President accepts any official position, they will no longer be entitled to such immunity. Rana Sanaullah said that the Judicial Commission will conduct interviews for judges of the Constitutional Court. He also mentioned that the first appointment will be made on the advice of the Prime Minister. He informed that the authority to appoint the Army Chief rests with the Prime Minister.
