CM Maryam Nawaz honors Allama Iqbal on his 148th birth anniversary

LAHORE(National times)- Punjab Chief Minster Maryam Nawaz pays heartfelt tribute to the “Poet of the East” and “Father of Pakistan,” Allama Muhammad Iqbal on his 148th birth anniversary (Today). In her message, Maryam Nawaz said, “The lesson of self-respect for the nation is one of Allama Iqbal’s greatest gifts. By following his thoughts and teachings, Pakistan can evolve into a welfare-oriented state.” The CM noted that Iqbal was not only a poet but also a reformer and guide who instilled the spirit of freedom and consciousness among Muslims of the subcontinent. “Allama Iqbal charted the direction for the nation and guided Quaid-e-Azam’s struggling mission towards its destination. His poetry continues to provide inspiring messages for the youth,” she added.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted that embracing the philosophy of self-respect is the best way to honor Iqbal. She remarked, “Only by implementing Iqbal’s ideas can Pakistan become a balanced and welfare-focused state. Following his poetry and philosophy is the truest form of paying tribute to him.” She further observed that Allama Iqbal’s thought-provoking poetry teaches self-reliance, high moral values, justice, honesty, and democracy. “Iqbal carried the universal message of Islam, which remains relevant across generations. It is imperative for us to understand his vision of Pakistan,” she said. The Chief Minister concluded by stressing the importance of putting Iqbal’s principles into practice, saying, “By following Allama Iqbal’s ideas, we can establish a free, fair, and just social and economic system. The true interpretation of Iqbal’s philosophy will enable Pakistan to attain prominence politically, economically, religiously, and socially on the global stage. Today, as a nation, we must renew our commitment to making Iqbal’s vision our guiding light.”
