ISLAMABAD (National Times) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the enemy made every effort to create divisions among Muslim countries in the region, but the conspiracy was foiled under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
Addressing the National Seerat Conference, the prime minister said Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye had entered into a historic Makkah Defence Agreement, while he paid tribute to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his services for peace.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said forces seeking to undermine peace had failed in their attempts to create hatred and divisions among Muslim countries. He added that the entire nation had remained united during the war with India.
He said Türkiye and Saudi Arabia were among Pakistan’s close partners that had stood by the country in both good and difficult times.
The prime minister said Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had stood with Pakistan like an iron wall and appreciated Saudi Arabia and Türkiye for their continued support for Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also praised religious scholars for keeping alive the respected tradition of the National Seerat Conference.
He said the large gathering served as a reminder that Muslims were one nation and stressed the importance of unity, solidarity and harmony among the Muslim Ummah.
The prime minister said the younger generation was the centre of the nation’s hopes, stressing that the future of the country would depend on the kind of generation the nation prepared.
He urged greater focus on the education, character-building and training of young people, saying that the values instilled in the new generation would ultimately shape the country’s future.
