GWADAR(National Times)- Six members of a family were burnt to death on Wednesday after a speeding gas bowser hit a car head-on and overturned on the Coastal Highway in Ormara area of Gwadar district. The car caught fire after the collision.
According to highway police, the tragic incident took place at 2-B area of Ormara where a speeding gas bowser collided head-on with a car carrying six members of a family.
“All six people in the car, including the driver, lost their lives on the spot as the car caught fire after the accident and those sitting in the car did not get a chance to get out of the burning car,” SSP Highway Police Muhammad Aslam Bangulzai said.
The victims include two men, two women and two children and they were going to Turbat from Karachi.
Highway and local police rushed to the area after receiving information about the incident and took bodies of the six victims to Ormara district hospital.
The deceased were later identified as Inspector Ataullah of the Fisheries Department and his family members. Hailing from Buleda, Ataullah was currently residing in Overseas Colony, Turbat. The driver of the car was identified as Aslam.
Traffic remained suspended on the highway for hours after the accident and later it was restored by highway police.
Two motorcyclists killed
Meanwhile, two motorcyclists were killed when a speeding trailer hit their motorcycle on the Quetta-Karachi Highway near Winder.
Bodies of the victims were taken to a hospital and were later handed over to their family members.
