President Zardari to embark on official visit to Bahrain today

ISLAMABAD(National times)- President Asif Ali Zardari is undertaking a four-day official visit to Bahrain from today (Tuesday). He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation. During the visit, the President will hold meetings with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The discussions will focus on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest. The visit seeks to reinforce Pakistan’s longstanding cooperation with the brotherly Gulf nation while expanding opportunities for collaboration in trade and economic partnership, defence and security, and people-to-people ties. President Zardari reaches Iraq on four-day official visit Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari visited Iraq in December. Upon his arrival in the Iraqi capital, the President of Pakistan was accorded a warm welcome by Iraqi authorities. Iraq’s Minister for Culture and Tourism, Professor Dr Ahmed Fakkak Ahmed Al-Badrani, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iraq Muhammad Zeeshan Ahmed, and other senior officials received the president at the airport. During the visit, President Zardari held meetings with Iraq’s top leadership to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.
