Those who passed 52 laws in an hour are now criticising us: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD(National times)- Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Thursday said that those who once passed 52 laws within an hour are now criticising us. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Khawaja Asif remarked that those who undermined parliamentary traditions are now lecturing others on democracy and rule of law. In another statement posted on X, Khawaja Asif criticized the poetic verses shared by former Supreme Court judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah in his resignation letter. Khawaja Asif said that these verses didn’t come to mind when justice was being slaughtered and a group of judges, instead of being guardians of the Constitution and the law, had turned into workers of a political party to protect someone’s political interests. If they had recalled their past before writing these verses, perhaps they would have felt some shame.
