ATC issues eighth non-bailable arrest warrant against Aleema Khan

ISLAMABAD(National times)- The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Rawalpindi has issued the eighth non-bailable arrest warrant against Aleema Khan. According to details the eighth arrest warrant against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf founder Imran Khan’s sister issued in the Sadiqabad police case due to her repeated absence from court hearings. The order was issued by Judge Amjad Ali Shah, who noted that despite previous warrants, Aleema Khan failed to appear in court. During the hearing, a report regarding the freezing of her bank accounts was also submitted. As per report a total of 12 accounts belonging to Alema Khan have been frozen by Bank Alfalah and MCB. One MCB account reportedly holds a balance of PKR 1.24 crore. The court also issued non-bailable warrants against bank officials from UBL Head Office Karachi and Habib Metro Bank, including Manager Syed Mansoor Hussain, for failing to appear and submit required reports. Officials from Golden Bank and Bank of Punjab also failed to present the documents, resulting in contempt of court notices being issued.

ATC issues seventh non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan

Prosecutors informed the court that Aleema Khan has been deliberately ignoring court proceedings, obstructing the judicial process, and delaying the trial. The court described her behavior as a deliberate attempt to mock the criminal justice system. Additionally, the ATC ordered the collection of details regarding Aleema Khan’s movable and immovable assets, instructing that her properties be seized in the next phase of the case. The court also directed the Chairman CDA, the Islamabad Commissioner and the Chairman SECP to provide details of any companies or shares registered in her name. Due to the absence of the accused and her legal counsel, witness testimonies could not be recorded during the hearing, further delaying the trial.
