ISLAMABAD (National Times) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Shibli Faraz said that the law and constitution were under threat in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Talking to the media alongside Sheikh Waqas Akram, Faraz said the Toshakhana case had been registered four times against the PTI founder Imran Khan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He claimed that despite all efforts to convict Khan, he remained strong both mentally and physically, and even if sentenced, the decision would likely be overturned in a higher court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Faraz further expressed concerns over the ongoing detention of Bushra Bibi, describing her as a non-political figure who is being illegally kept in jail as a means to coerce the PTI leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere is no justice for even the most prominent figures in the country, so what hope can a common person have?” Faraz questioned. The country\u2019s political, legal, and constitutional framework is being exploited for the benefit of a specific ruling group. He condemned the recent constitutional amendments, calling them “satanic amendments,” meant to manipulate the electoral process and secure power for the ruling elite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheikh Waqas Akram, another prominent PTI leader and central spokesperson, repeated Faraz\u2019s concerns, accusing the current government of introducing constitutional amendments solely to harm Imran Khan and his party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese amendments are aimed at further weakening PTI, but as long as we exist, we will oppose these changes with all our might,\u201d Akram stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also accused the government of manipulating parliamentary procedures and the Election Commission to serve their agenda, claiming that the political crisis in the country stems from the biased actions of the Election Commission. Despite obstacles, Akram confirmed that PTI will hold a protest at Liaquat Bagh tomorrow, asserting their right to peaceful assembly as a constitutional right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
