{"id":83711,"date":"2024-06-12T10:34:57","date_gmt":"2024-06-12T10:34:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=83711"},"modified":"2024-06-12T10:34:57","modified_gmt":"2024-06-12T10:34:57","slug":"40-high-capacity-wagons-added-to-pakistan-railways-fleet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2024\/83711\/","title":{"rendered":"40 high-capacity wagons added to Pakistan Railways fleet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Rawalpindi (National Times) Pakistan Railways Wednesday added at least 40 high-capacity wagons to its fleet that have been produced locally after China fulfilled the promise to transfer its local manufacturing technology for Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The railways&#8217; Chief Executive Officer Amir Ali Baloch inaugurated the new, international standard wagons at the Cantt Railway Station in Lahore, a statement released by Pakistan Railways read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It added that the wagons with modern design will also be able to move containers from one place to another and are capable of carrying 70 tons of load.<br>Now, the freight train will also be able to run at a speed of 100km per hour, read the statement, adding that 820 such coaches will be inducted into the railway system by the end of financial year 2025-26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manufacturing wagons at the local level will save foreign exchange reserves and they will increase the income by more than Rs9 billion every year, mentioned the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Local manufacturing of wagons is a major step towards self-reliance,&#8221; Baloch said addressing the inauguration ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pakistan Railways spokesperson said that the department has developed wagons of international standards for freight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rawalpindi (National Times) Pakistan Railways Wednesday added at least 40 high-capacity wagons to its fleet that have been produced locally after China fulfilled the promise to transfer its local manufacturing technology for Pakistan.
