{"id":81166,"date":"2024-05-07T10:30:17","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T10:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=81166"},"modified":"2024-05-07T10:30:17","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T10:30:17","slug":"nawaz-sharif-files-acquittal-plea-in-toshakhana-reference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2024\/81166\/","title":{"rendered":"Nawaz Sharif files acquittal plea in Toshakhana reference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ISLAMABAD (National Times): PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif has filed acquittal plea in Tosha Khana referecne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hearing of Tosha Khana vehicles reference against President Asif Ali Zardari, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Yousuf Raza Gillani took place in Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rana Muhammad Irfan appeared in the court as pleader of Nawaz Sharif and he filed acquittal plea in Tosha Khana vehicles reference on behalf of his client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prosecutor said he sends this application to NAB Headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AC issued notice for May 22 for arguments on the acquittal plea of Nawaz Sharif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Counsel Arshid Tabrez said president Asif Ali Zardari enjoys presidential immunity. The case cannot run to his extent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NAB Prosecutor replied application regarding presidential immunity has been received.
