{"id":43092,"date":"2022-09-16T06:35:08","date_gmt":"2022-09-16T06:35:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=43092"},"modified":"2022-09-16T06:35:08","modified_gmt":"2022-09-16T06:35:08","slug":"pervaiz-elahi-seeks-jail-reforms-plan-in-seven-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2022\/43092\/","title":{"rendered":"Pervaiz Elahi seeks jail reforms plan in seven days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE (National Times) &#8211; Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi presided over a special meeting in connection with the jail reforms at CM Office on Thursday in which various proposals and recommendations were submitted for the welfare of prisoners.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Minister sought a comprehensive jail reforms plan within seven days and said that the prisoners with better performance in education would be given remission in their punishments. While it was also principally decided that the doctors working in the jail hospitals would be given Rs 1.5 lakh special allowance.<\/p>\n<p>It was also recommended during the meeting to give every prisoner 300 minutes on monthly basis in order to talk with their family members.<\/p>\n<p>Pervaiz Elahi directed to provide quality food and eggs in the breakfast to the prisoners. He directed that necessary action should be taken in order to provide foreign prisoners access to their relevant Consul Generals.<\/p>\n<p>It was also decided during the meeting to handover the arrangements of the jail canteen to the utility stores and other mega stores. The CM ordered to undertake prompt measures so as to provide free legal aid to the abandoned prisoners.<\/p>\n<p>He informed that all the prisoners in the prisons would be provided hygiene kits for their cleanliness.
