{"id":34478,"date":"2022-06-04T07:21:33","date_gmt":"2022-06-04T07:21:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=34478"},"modified":"2022-06-04T07:21:33","modified_gmt":"2022-06-04T07:21:33","slug":"money-laundering-case-fia-seeks-courts-nod-to-arrest-pm-cm-punjab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2022\/34478\/","title":{"rendered":"Money laundering case: FIA seeks court&#8217;s nod to arrest PM, CM Punjab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE (National Times) \u2013 Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has sought court\u2019s permission to arrest Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Punjab Hamza Shahbaz in money laundering case.<\/p>\n<p>According to details, PM Shehbaz and CM Hamza appeared before the special court hearing Rs16 billion money laundering case against them.<\/p>\n<p>Counsel of the PML-N leaders opposed FIA plea and argued the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government had filed the case with mala fide intent to target political opponents.<\/p>\n<p>Hamza\u2019s counsel argued that there is no rationale behind seeking arrest after challan has been submitted and this move shows mala fide intentions of the prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>FIA has also submitted a supplementary challan against PM Shehbaz,CM Hamza and others in money laundering case.<\/p>\n<p>During the previous hearing, the court had directed the FIA to correct the addresses and the fathers\u2019 names of the accused persons and submit a supplementary challan.<\/p>\n<p>It is pertinent to mention here that father\u2019s names of Salman Shehbaz, Tahir Naqvi were not mentioned while address of Maqsood Malik was incorrect in the previous challan submitted by the FIA in the court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE (National Times) \u2013 Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has sought court\u2019s permission to arrest Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Punjab Hamza Shahbaz in money laundering case.
