{"id":21986,"date":"2022-01-21T14:53:41","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T14:53:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=21986"},"modified":"2022-01-21T14:53:41","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T14:53:41","slug":"fawad-asks-sharif-family-to-clarify-position-on-british-solicitors-statement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2022\/21986\/","title":{"rendered":"Fawad asks Sharif family to clarify position on British solicitor&#8217;s statement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DUBAI (National Times) \u2013 Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Friday asked the Sharif family to clarify their position on the statement by British solicitor Charles Guthrie claiming that former Giligt Baltistan chief judge Rana Shamim signed the affidavit at the residence of Nawaz Sharif in London.<\/p>\n<p>Talking to media in Islamabad on Friday, he said it was an important allegation and \u201cI think the Sharif family should come forward and explain their position.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chaudhry said apparently it was a fake story as the affidavit was signed at the residence of Nawaz Sharif. He said, \u201cWhen Nawaz Sharif and the company was in power, only his films were playing, no one paid attention to the original cinema films.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Taking a jibe on Nawaz Sharif, he said the \u201cflop movie\u201d (referring to Nawaz) had gone to London. To a question, he said the overseas Pakistanis were an asset for the nation and particularly those living in the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n<p>Around 1.5 million Pakistanis resided in the UAE, the biggest contributor in the remittances, and most of them were using the Roshan Digital Pakistan account, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said the overseas Pakistanis supported Prime Minister Imran Khan and he also stood with him firmly, and their combination would take Pakistan forward.<\/p>\n<p>Fawad said 11 Pakistani films were being screened at the Dubai Film Festival and he was here to support and enjoy the Pakistani stuff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DUBAI (National Times) \u2013 Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Friday asked the Sharif family to clarify their position on the statement by British solicitor Charles Guthrie claiming that former Giligt Baltistan chief judge Rana Shamim signed the affidavit at the residence of Nawaz Sharif in London.
