{"id":135390,"date":"2026-10-25T09:12:16","date_gmt":"2026-10-25T04:12:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=135390"},"modified":"2026-10-25T09:12:24","modified_gmt":"2026-10-25T04:12:24","slug":"pezeshkian-calls-for-end-to-state-of-neither-war-nor-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2026\/135390\/","title":{"rendered":"Pezeshkian calls for end to state of \u2018neither war nor peace\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TEHRAN(National Times)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Saturday that Tehran must break out of its current state of \u201cneither war nor peace\u201d, as economic pressures mount from the ongoing military conflict with the United States and Israel, the semi-official Isna news agency reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at a ceremony, Mr Pezeshkian stressed that effective steps to resolve the prolonged deadlock were essential to establishing a predictable strategic environment for domestic planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI still believe that we must go and get out of the \u2018no war, no peace\u2019 situation, because Iran and our land are very rich and exceptional in minerals, geography, and human resources, and each of these is gold,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pezeshkian said it was \u201cnecessary to correct our mentality and get on the right path\u201d, calling for unity and cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also said many Iran\u00adians were struggling to put food on the table as economic pressures mounted amid the war in the Middle East, AFP reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018New attempt\u2019<br>Separately, Pezeshkian blamed the United States for the failure of an interim deal with Iran but said there should be a fresh attempt to conclude it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe were having negotiations; the cowards [Americans] messed everything up \u2026 I still think we should go and conclude it,\u201d he said in remarks broadcast on state television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran\u2019s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam has said that Tehran recently conveyed through Islamabad that it was prepared to reopen the Strait of Hormuz if Washington lifted its naval blockade, The Associated Press reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his remarks at a seminar in Islamabad, the Ira\u00adn\u00adian envoy also accused US President Donald Trump of rejecting the proposal by insisting the blockade of Iranian ports would continue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEHRAN(National Times)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Saturday that Tehran must break out of its current state of \u201cneither war nor peace\u201d, as economic pressures mount from the ongoing military conflict with the United States and Israel, the semi-official Isna news agency reported.
