{"id":134295,"date":"2026-10-05T11:29:02","date_gmt":"2026-10-05T06:29:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=134295"},"modified":"2026-10-05T11:29:15","modified_gmt":"2026-10-05T06:29:15","slug":"naqvi-kundi-mull-governors-rule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2026\/134295\/","title":{"rendered":"Naqvi, Kundi mull governor\u2019s rule"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ISLAMABAD(National Times)- Interior Mini\u00adster Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to discuss the political and security situation amid speculations of \u2018imminent\u2019 governor\u2019s rule in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a statement issued by Governor House, both leaders expressed concerns over the \u201crisk of facilitating terrorists to safely cross security checkposts\u201d during the PTI\u2019s Islamabad march.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They agreed that whenever the president and the prime minister deemed it necessary to impose the governor\u2019s rule or emergency to \u201csave the province from terrorism and destruction, the Governor\u2019s House will play a full constitutional role\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They also discussed important matters at the provincial level, including growing unrest in the province, the political scenario, and the situation arising from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/2034698\/we-are-not-yes-men-cm-afridi-launches-pti-long-march-to-islamabad-convoy-enters-karak-district\">Islamabad march.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statement read that the KP government\u2019s attitude during the negotiations regarding counterterrorism actions was tantamount to \u2018enmity\u2019 toward the people and the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Naqvi and Mr Kundi also termed the use of helicopters and other government resources by Afridi and the provincial ministers for the march as a \u201cblatant violation\u201d of the IHC verdict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Kundi said in his own statement that KP Inspector General of Police Zulfikar Hameed was also present at the meeting, which revolved around the prevailing security situation in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe security of our people rem\u00adains our foremost priority.
