HYDERABAD(National Times)- An Indonesian woman, Indah Marlyan, was recovered under judicial orders and handed over to her country\u2019s consulate by the district police on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The woman had married a man, Naik Mohammad Shaikh alias Mohammad Hamza Mirza. She had submitted a complaint to the consulate alleging that she was being subjected to domestic violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The consulate took up the matter with Sindh government functionaries and an application was filed through the women development department before the additional district judge-V under Section 491 Cr.PC for her recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SSP Hyderabad Shahzeb Chachar told Dawn<\/em> on Saturday that the woman, along with her infant baby girl, was handed over to the Indonesian consulate under judicial supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The police have detained Naik Mohammad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The action was taken by police after the women development department through its employee, Ishtiaq Channa, filed the application in the court for her recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The applicant said that the woman was held in wrongful confinement by Naik Mohammad Shaikh, a resident of Gul Latif Housing Society in Qasimabad. He said that the department had received an application on Aug 8 for protection. He said the woman alleged that she was being threatened and assaulted by her husband. He sought a court order in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The woman had also approached her country\u2019s consulate in Karachi for help.
