There are moments in life that reshape the way we see the world \u2014 and my recent journey through illness and recovery has been exactly that. It has taught me more than I could have imagined, not just about medicine and healing, but about the quiet strength of human kindness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lessons from the Past<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As I navigated this difficult chapter, I often found myself thinking of Colonel Ilahi Bakhsh, the physician who once cared for the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Colonel Bakhsh left behind an extraordinary legacy \u2014 not just as a doctor, but as a chronicler of wisdom, through his invaluable memoirs and his golden principles of health and healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my own recovery, I have tried, in whatever small way I can, to follow in the spirit of those principles. It strikes me that we so often overlook the wisdom of those who came before us. Our elders have walked through hardships, illness, and recovery long before we ever will, and their experiences hold lessons we rarely take the time to seek out. This journey has reminded me just how much we stand to gain if only we pause to listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gratitude to Those Who Cared for Me<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On 17th July 2026, I was admitted to Northern General Hospital in Sheffield and on 24th Juy 2026, I underwent surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What followed was a demanding period of treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery yet alongside the physical and emotional challenges. I experienced something deeply reassuring and profoundly moving which was the remarkable professionalism and humanity of the British National Health Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the deepest corners of my heart, I want to express my gratitude to everyone at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield \u2014 the doctors, nurses, physiotherapy team, laboratory staff, chefs, support workers, and every single person who, in ways big and small, contributed to my recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healing is rarely the work of one person; it is a quiet collaboration of many hands and many hearts, and I felt that collaboration every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I owe a special debt of thanks to my physicians \u2014 Dr. Syed Siddiqui, Dr. Hamza, Dr. Ahmed Hassan, and Dr. Saeed Qureshi \u2014 for their skill, patience, and care. My dear friend Dr. Javed Iqbal stood by me throughout, as did the wonderful members of the physiotherapy and rehabilitation team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am equally grateful to my cherished friends Farhat Kiani, Asad Mahmood, Naveed Ahmed, Naushad Hussain, Anees Rehman, Ch M Zahure MBE, Georgia, Gemma, Fraser, Barrister Rashad Aslam, Barrister Amjad Malik, Dr Shawnawaz, Manoj Athi Solicitor, Solicitor Abdul Rehman and Safia Asif. Their hard work, compassion, and constant encouragement gave me strength on days when I had little left to draw on myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family: My Anchor Through It All<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Through every difficult moment, my wife and children never left my side. Their presence was more than a comfort \u2014 it was the very foundation that held me steady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am equally thankful to my siblings, relatives, and friends, whose prayers, love, and words of encouragement carried me forward, even from a distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also want to acknowledge Councillor Abdul Qayyum and Councillor Talib Hussain, whose regular visits, heartfelt concern, and genuine support lifted my spirits during some of the hardest days of this journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I further want to thank my dear friends, Malik Imran Zafar, Mr. Captain Dr. Masood Warsi, Malik Abdul Qadeer Awan, my uncle Dr. Syed Yawar Abbas Kazi, Dr. Ameer Afzal, my brother Mr. Mazhar Tufail, and Naseer Malik for their prayers and best wishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Word for Those Who Stood By Me Professionally<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My gratitude extends as well to the entire team at Nazir Solicitors, and in particular to my younger brother, Solicitor Waqar Khan, and to Ghafar Khan. They stood beside me through every challenge, not only preserving their family’s proud traditions but carrying them forward with an even greater commitment to integrity, service, and excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would also like to thank the entire team at Affinity Seven, whose sincerity, dedication, and unwavering support have long been \u2014 and continue to be \u2014 a source of real pride for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Prayer of Gratitude<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I would also like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all the local mosques who remembered me in their prayers. Their duas gave me comfort and strength throughout this journey, and I am deeply grateful for the compassion and unity of the wider community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To everyone who stood with me through this challenging chapter of my life \u2014 in ways seen and unseen \u2014 I offer my heartfelt thanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May Almighty Allah bless each of you with health, happiness, success, and His countless blessings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
