{"id":130962,"date":"2026-08-10T14:36:33","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T09:36:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=130962"},"modified":"2026-08-10T14:36:34","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T09:36:34","slug":"malaysian-pm-anwar-ibrahim-undergoing-medical-procedures-aide-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2026\/130962\/","title":{"rendered":"Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim undergoing medical procedures, aide says"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Web Desk(National Times)- Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is undergoing medical tests and procedures and was expected to be under observation for two days, his aide said on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anwar is \u201cundergoing examinations and procedures set by a team of medical experts\u201d, Press Secretary Tunku Nashrul Abaidah said in a statement, without providing further details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLet us pray \u2026 that he is blessed with long-lasting health so that he can return to his usual duties in the near future,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wished his Malaysian counterpart a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a post on X, he said: \u201cWishing my dear brother, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, a swift and smooth recovery during his medical procedures.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe people of Pakistan join me in praying for his continued good health and well-being,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anwar, who turned 79 on Monday and has been in office since 2022, has had recurrent shoulder and back problems. He was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1415784\">hospitalised&nbsp;<\/a>in 2018 for shoulder and back pain.
