{"id":130062,"date":"2026-07-25T18:11:46","date_gmt":"2026-07-25T13:11:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=130062"},"modified":"2026-07-25T18:11:47","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T13:11:47","slug":"nccia-plea-for-falak-javeds-jail-trial-rejected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2026\/130062\/","title":{"rendered":"NCCIA plea for Falak Javed\u2019s jail trial rejected"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LAHORE(National Times)- A sessions court on Friday rejected a request of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to conduct a jail trial of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) social media activist Falak Javed in a case of alleged anti-state posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional District &amp; Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqui Malik announced the order after hearing the NCCIA\u2019s request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Declining the agency\u2019s request to shift the trial to jail, the judge ordered that the case would continue on the next date of hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the judge noted that the agency could approach the Punjab home department for the request for a jail trial. He adjourned the proceedings in the main case till Sept 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NCCIA has already submitted the challan (charge sheet) of the case registered over alleged anti-state tweets on social media shared by the PTI activist, which were also aimed at \u201cinciting hate\u201d against the heads of state institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FIR was lodged under various sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca) 2016 and the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE(National Times)- A sessions court on Friday rejected a request of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to conduct a jail trial of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) social media activist Falak Javed in a case of alleged anti-state posts.
