ISLAMABAD, July 1 (LORD): The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan on Wednesday hosted a reception to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), with senior Pakistani leaders, diplomats, lawmakers, political party representatives and members of the Chinese community attending the event.
Addressing the reception, Pakistan\u2019s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar described Pakistan-China ties as a shining model of mutual trust, mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation, saying the enduring friendship has been nurtured by successive generations of leaders and reflects the aspirations of the two peoples.
Dar paid tribute to the leadership of the CPC, saying its wisdom and vision have played an instrumental role in shaping the resilient and time-tested Pakistan-China partnership.
Dar said Pakistan and China have consistently supported each other on issues concerning sovereignty, territorial integrity and core interests, adding that the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership has continued to deepen through political, economic and people-to-people exchanges.
Highlighting party-to-party relations, Dar said regular dialogue between the CPC and Pakistan\u2019s political parties has strengthened mutual understanding, facilitated the sharing of governance experience and reinforced a common vision for development and modernization.
The deputy prime minister noted that support for friendship with China enjoys broad consensus across Pakistan\u2019s political spectrum, adding that successive governments have maintained China as a top foreign policy priority.
The deputy prime minister said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has transformed Pakistan\u2019s energy and transport infrastructure, helped address chronic electricity shortages, generated employment opportunities and supported the country\u2019s economic development.
Dar said the second phase of CPEC is focused on high-quality development in areas including industrialization, agriculture, mining, information technology and human resource development, while complementing Pakistan\u2019s national development framework.
Dar also welcomed China\u2019s support for regional peace efforts, saying President Xi Jinping\u2019s vision emphasizing dialogue and peaceful settlement of disputes has contributed positively to efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions.
Speaking at the reception, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong said the CPC has, over the past 105 years, united and led the Chinese people in achieving historic transformations from standing up to becoming prosperous and strong.
Jiang said under the leadership of Xi Jinping, China has advanced Chinese modernization, eliminated extremely rural poverty, built the world\u2019s largest education, social security and healthcare systems, and continued to maintain steady economic growth.
The ambassador said China remains committed to promoting peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, while advancing initiatives including the Belt and Road Initiative and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Describing CPEC as a flagship project of Belt and Road cooperation, Jiang said the initiative has brought more than 25.9 billion U.S. dollars in direct investment to Pakistan, created over 260,000 jobs, added more than 8,000 megawatts of power generation capacity, and significantly improved the country\u2019s transport and energy infrastructure.
Jiang also congratulated Pakistan on its recent economic progress and its diplomatic efforts to promote regional peace, saying China stands ready to work with Pakistan to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen the alignment between China\u2019s 15th Five-Year Plan and Pakistan\u2019s Uraan Pakistan initiative, accelerate the development of CPEC 2.0, and deepen the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.
The reception formed part of activities marking both the CPC\u2019s 105th founding anniversary and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
