{"id":126381,"date":"2026-05-22T17:34:25","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T12:34:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=126381"},"modified":"2026-05-22T17:34:25","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T12:34:25","slug":"pm-shehbaz-says-pakistan-taking-measures-on-a-priority-basis-to-increase-foreign-investment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2026\/126381\/","title":{"rendered":"PM Shehbaz says Pakistan taking measures on a priority basis to increase foreign investment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ISLAMABAD(National Times)-Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday said that Pakistan was taking measures on a priority basis to increase foreign investment in the country, according to a statement by the Prime Minister\u2019s House (PMO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation from Qatar\u2019s Taameer Group, led by its founder Mohammad Al Ali, the PMO said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cQatar is a longstanding friend of Pakistan that has always stood by the country in difficult times,\u201d PM Shehbaz was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are taking measures on a priority basis to increase foreign investment. Obstacles hindering investment have been removed under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The premier further said that Pakistan had vast potential for investment in tourism and hospitality, as well as the real estate and construction sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He directed the authorities concerned to \u201cprovide facilitation and support to the group\u201d on investment in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statement went on to say that the company\u2019s founder briefed the meeting about its investments in Pakistan and ongoing projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe group is interested in investing in Pakistan\u2019s hospitality and hotel industry, as well as the real estate and construction sectors, and work on several projects in this regard has already begun,\u201d the statement quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It stated that he also expressed keen interest in further expanding the group\u2019s investment in Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe lauded the steps being taken under the leadership of PM Shehbaz for the country\u2019s development and for boosting business activity and foreign investment,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said that under the prime minister\u2019s leadership, \u201cthe government is taking positive measures\u201d through the SIFC to facilitate investors in Pakistan, the statement concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD(National Times)-Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday said that Pakistan was taking measures on a priority basis to increase foreign investment in the country, according to a statement by the Prime Minister\u2019s House (PMO).
