{"id":126018,"date":"2026-05-16T18:32:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T13:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=126018"},"modified":"2026-05-16T18:32:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T13:32:15","slug":"alleged-drug-queenpin-anmol-remanded-into-police-custody-till-may-22-in-narcotics-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2026\/126018\/","title":{"rendered":"Alleged drug queenpin Anmol remanded into police custody till May 22 in narcotics case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KARACHI(National Times)-  A judicial magistrate on Saturday remanded alleged drug queenpin Anmol alias Pinky in police custody till May 22 in a narcotics case registered against her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anmol was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1999759\/three-policemen-suspended-for-giving-protocol-to-drug-dealer\"><u>arrested<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;earlier this week from her apartment in Karachi in connection with two cases pertaining to the possession of narcotics and an unlicenced weapon. She was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/2000274\">already booked<\/a>&nbsp;in multiple criminal cases prior to her arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier in the day, magistrates of districts South, Central and Malir reserved their decisions on police requests for Anmol\u2019s physical custody in a total of 15 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, she was presented before Karachi Central Special Sunday Magistrate Abdul Sattar in a case registered under the Sindh Control of Narcotic Substances Act 2024 (NSA) at the Specialised Investigation Unit (SIU\/CIA) police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police sought her 14-day custody, but the judge approved her six-day physical remand, noting that the investigation officer\u2019s (IO) submission was \u201cfound cogent and reasonable\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the court order, available with&nbsp;<em>Dawn<\/em>, Anmol stated herself to be arrested in this case on May 15 and alleged \u201cmaltreatment at the hands of police, but no apparent marks of violence were present\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judge noted the IO was required to get the suspect examined by any women medicolegal officer and provide necessary medical treatment as advised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1999686\/karachi-police-arrest-most-wanted-cocaine-queenpin\">On May 12<\/a>, the police brought Anmol before the judicial magistrate (South), who refused to hand over the custody to the police and sent her to prison on judicial remand. The next day, a district court&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/2000109\">remanded her<\/a>&nbsp;in police custody for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1999906\">three days<\/a>, which expired today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Karachi Police have said a \u201cbroad-based investigation\u201d had been launched into the case after a preliminary probe&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/2000569\/anmol-pinky-part-of-transnational-drug-network-investigation-finds\">suggested<\/a>&nbsp;the involvement of foreigners in operating the narcotics network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Separately, the Punjab police have also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/2000297\">woken up<\/a>&nbsp;to three old cases registered against her and her brothers in Lahore several years ago and are reportedly planning to seek her custody from Sindh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the revelations by Anmol that one of her countrywide drug supply network\u2019s members, Tahir Saleem, belonged to Hasilpur in the Bahawalpur district, the district as well as the regional police have&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/2000562\">swung into action<\/a>&nbsp;to nab the suspect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI(National Times)- A judicial magistrate on Saturday remanded alleged drug queenpin Anmol alias Pinky in police custody till May 22 in a narcotics case registered against her.
