KARACHI(National Times)- Three station house officers (SHOs) were suspended on Thursday after an alleged drone incident in Sindh\u2019s Khairpur district resulted in four deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A statement issued by the office of Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar said \u201cfour civilians were killed in a drone attack in Saeed Khan Lakho village\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both Lanjar and Sindh Inspector General (IG) Javed Alam Odho also took strict notice of the incident and sought a report from the Sukkur deputy inspector general (DIG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
IG Odho also issued directives for the suspension of the Kandhra, Patni and Saleh Pat SHOs in Sukkur, ordering \u201cstrict legal and departmental action\u201d against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Subsequently, an order issued by the Sindh Police Department stated that Kandhra SHO Shoukat Ali Arain, Patni SHO Imran Khan Bhayo and Saleh Pat SHO Allauddin Phulpoto have been placed under suspension and \u201cclosed to \u2018B\u2019 Company PHQ\/Garden Karachi\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDuring the period of suspension, they will draw their pay and allowances as admissible under the rules,\u201d the police order said. They would be reporting to \u2018B\u2019 Company PHQ\/Garden Karachi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the statement issued by IG Odho\u2019s office, a committee headed by the Ghotki senior superintendent of police (SSP) was formed to probe the reported incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police chief directed that the individuals \u201cviolating the law and the SOPs in the incident\u201d be arrested and legal action be ensured against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The home minister also ordered a \u201ctransparent and comprehensive investigation\u201d into the incident. \u201cAll aspects of the incident should be reviewed in detail,\u201d he was quoted as saying by his office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lanjar also appointed the Counter Terrorism Police Additional IG Zulfiqar Larik as the inquiry officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister asserted that any kind of negligence or unlawful action would not be tolerated, ordering that strict action be taken under the law against those responsible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
