{"id":124259,"date":"2026-04-14T11:36:40","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T06:36:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=124259"},"modified":"2026-04-14T11:36:45","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T06:36:45","slug":"psx-recovers-over-4000-points-during-intraday-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2026\/124259\/","title":{"rendered":"PSX recovers over 4,000 points during intraday trade"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Karachi(National Times)-  The Pakistan Stock Exchange\u2019s (PSX) benchmark index KSE-100 recovered over 4,000 points during intraday trade on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KSE-100 index surged by 4,132.44 points, or 2.57 per cent, to stand at 164,723.77 at 11:04am, from the previous close of 160,591.33 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A day ago, the market&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1991302\">shed 6,600 points<\/a>&nbsp;in a turbulent session, as fears of supply disruptions returned after inconclusive&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1990743\/dar-urges-us-iran-to-uphold-commitment-to-ceasefire-as-talks-conclude-without-deal\">Iran-US peace talks<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1991483\/psx-loses-6600-points-on-economic-concerns\">triggering<\/a>&nbsp;panic-selling at the PSX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1991497\/efforts-afoot-for-second-round-of-us-iran-talks\">another round<\/a>&nbsp;of Iran-US dialogue was being acti\u00advely pursued as Pakistan and others have step\u00adped up efforts to prevent the fragile process from sliding back into confrontation, diplomats said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the macroeconomic front, Fitch Ratings&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1968355\">reaffirmed<\/a>&nbsp;Pakistan\u2019s long-term foreign-currency rating at \u201cB-\u201d, providing some underlying support for investor confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Market sentiment had remained fragile throughout Monday\u2019s session, after the Islamabad Talks ended with no agreement between the United States and Iran and a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz loomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>US President Donald Trump\u2019s announcement to block access to Iran\u2019s ports, which went&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1991499\/us-blockade-of-hormuz-puts-ceasefire-to-test\">into effect<\/a>&nbsp;last evening, has raised concerns about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1991330\">global oil supply disruptions<\/a>&nbsp;and macroeconomic stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oil prices&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1991487\/oil-surges-back-above-100-a-barrel\">surged back<\/a>&nbsp;above $100 a barrel and stocks mostly fell on Monday after the US military said it had begun the blockade of Iranian ports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Karachi(National Times)- The Pakistan Stock Exchange\u2019s (PSX) benchmark index KSE-100 recovered over 4,000 points during intraday trade on Tuesday.
