Web Desk(National Times)- The Islamabad district administration announced local holidays in the federal capital on April 9 (Thursday) and 10 (Friday).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a post on the social media platform X, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon said, \u201cLocal Holidays Announced in Islamabad \u2013 9th & 10th April.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also shared the notification by the office of the Islamabad district magistrate. However, he added, essential services will remain operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the official, these included the Capital Development Authority, the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration, Islamabad police, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd and hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCitizens are advised to plan their activities accordingly. Thank you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was no explanation for the holidays announced. However, the development comes after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed <\/a>Tehran\u2019s participation in Pakistan-offered peace talks<\/u><\/a> with the United States in Islamabad to finalise a peaceful settlement to their conflict following a ceasefire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US has not yet confirmed its participation in the talks, the invitation of which was extended by PM Shehbaz for April 10 (Friday), following the announcement of the ceasefire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
