{"id":123846,"date":"2026-04-07T19:32:01","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T14:32:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/?p=123846"},"modified":"2026-04-07T19:32:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T14:32:03","slug":"pakistan-has-repaid-1-43-billion-in-debt-including-eurobond-due-april-8-adviser-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationaltimes.pk\/eng\/2026\/123846\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan has repaid $1.43 billion in debt, including Eurobond due April 8, adviser says"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ISLAMABAD(National Times)- Pakistan repaid $1.43 billion in external debt, including a $1.3 billion Eurobond maturing on April 8, Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs part of its routine course of external debt management, Pakistan has repaid its $1.3bn Eurobond maturing on April 8 \u2014 on schedule and in full,\u201d he said in a post on the social media platform X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAlongside, the country has also met $126.125 million in coupon obligations on other Eurobond issuances,\u201d he said, adding that this brought total payments on Tuesday to \u201cover $1.426bn\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDebt servicing continues to be executed as a non-event \u2014 reflecting consistency, discipline, and strengthened capacity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe seamless execution of large external repayments underscores both capacity and consistency \u2014 reinforcing Pakistan\u2019s credibility across global investors and financial institutions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The development follows Pakistan\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1988580\">decision&nbsp;<\/a>to return $3.5 billion in debt to the UAE before the end of this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a senior Pakistani official, Abu Dhabi had sought the immediate return of the amount.
