LAHORE(National times)- The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday issued arrest warrants for the accused nominated in the case regarding the upload of a fake video of Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bokhari. Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Justice Aalia Neelum, heard the petition filed by Uzma Bokhari seeking cancellation of the suspect\u2019s bail. Despite repeated court orders, the accused did not appear. Advocate Azhar Siddique appeared on behalf of the accused, Ali Hassan. The petitioner\u2019s counsel argued that despite 25 hearings, the accused has not appeared before the trial court in the fake video case, due to which the trial is being delayed. Therefore, the court should cancel his bail. The court remarked, \u201cWhy did the accused not appear despite the court\u2019s notice?\u201d The lawyer replied, \u201cIf the court orders, we can call the accused right now.\u201d Expressing displeasure, Chief Justice Aalia Neelum remarked, \u201cThe notice was issued to the accused, not the lawyer.\u201d The court, due to the accused\u2019s absence, issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Ali Hassan and adjourned further proceedings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
