ISLAMABAD(National Times)- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Tuesday that the government would introduce the 27th constitutional amendment before the parliament very soon. He said that the PML-N and the PPP have reached an understanding on one key point of the amendment, and other coalition partners would also be taken into confidence. He made these remarks at the Senate session. \u201cWe will present it in accordance with the Constitution. You (the opposition) will have the opportunity to debate and give your opinion on it,\u201d he told the house. He added that the matter would be referred to a National Assembly law committee. \u201cI assure you there will be no rush to pass the amendment hastily,\u201d he emphasized. The deputy Prime Minister stated that discussions are ongoing with the government\u2019s main coalition partner, and that other allies, including the MQM, ANP, and BAP, would also be consulted. Dar reaffirmed, \u201cThe government is introducing the 27th Constitutional Amendment, and it will be brought forward. The final document will be presented before you.\u201d Referring to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto\u2019s recent statement, Dar said, \u201cI have seen Bilawal\u2019s statement \u2014 it is his right to express his views. The points he raised were not baseless; discussions have been held on those issues.
