Pakistan(National Times)- NEW YORK: A reception was hosted by the Pakistan’s Mission to the United Nations on Saturday to bid farewell to country’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Munir Akram, a \u201cdistinguished figure in multilateral diplomacy\u201d, who will relinquish the post at the end of this month. Prominent persons, who attended the event, included were Permanent Representative to the UN designate Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, the Consul General in New York Aamir Ahmed Atozai, Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Usman Jadoon, officers of the mission and their families, staff members, and Akram’s wife.\u00a0 In his remarks, Amb Ahmad paid glowing tribute to his predecessor, acknowledging his decades of \u201coutstanding service\u201d to Pakistan.
