Pakistan cannot afford to host more Afghan refugees: FO

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has hoped that Troika plus will lead to move forward inter-Afghan dialogue saying it cannot afford to host more Afghan refugees.

“the only solution to Afghan issue is political solution. Eventually Afghans have to resolve this problem. Pakistan has reservation over fast deteriorating situation in Afghanistan. India has always played the role of spoiler in Afghanistan. The statement by daughter of Afghan ambassador does not conform to our investigations”, this was said by Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson during his weekly briefing here in FO Friday.

FO spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said “we always talked of responsible draw down of US from Afghanistan. Pakistan has reservations over fast deteriorating situation in Afghanistan. We suffered loss of over 80000 lives from 2001 todate. No other country supports peace in Afghanistan more than Pakistan. India always played the role of spoiler in Afghanistan.

He went on to say a flood of refugees will enter into Pakistan in the perspective of prevailing situation in Afghanistan. Pakistan cannot afford to host more Afghan refugees .

He held we are supporter of peace in Afghanistan from the very beginning. Pakistan has repeatedly talked against the military solution of Afghan issue. Political solution is only solution of Afghanistan issue. Eventually Afghans have to resolve Afghan issue.

There is a mechanism in place for talks between the parties concerned in Afghanistan.

He pointed out that peace conference in Afghanistan was postponed and not suspended. New schedule of this conference will be announced soon.

The statement of daughter of Afghan ambassador does not conform to our investigations, he underlined. Daughter of Afghan ambassador should cooperate with us to complete the investigation.

OIC Human Rights commission delegation visited Pakistan; he remarked. The delegation met kashmiri refugees and civil society. The delegation will present its detailed report in the OIC foreign ministers conference. The international community, OIC and UN should play their role for resolution of Kashmir issue.

He stated that Iraqi foreign minister Dr Fawad Hussain visited Pakistan. During the meetings bilateral ties, regional issues, Afghanistan situation and matters of mutual interest came under the discussion. The visa issues related to visiting Pakistani pilgrims to Iraq were discussed. Pakistan has decided to open consulate in Najaf and Karbala.

We have presented dossier on use of Afghan soil against Pakistan and RAW and NDS nexus. This dossier was discussed with international community. We will present this dossier in UN.

Troika plus meeting was held in Doha on August, 11. It is hoped inter-Afghan dialogue will move forward due to troika plus. The meeting was attended by Pakistan, US, China and special envoy of Russian Federation for Afghanistan. . A regional meeting was also held on Afghanistan.

He stated that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is proscribed outfit. We say to Afghan government to take action against TTP. India has always leveled allegations against Pakistan without investigation. India wants to use such allegations and incidents for false flag operation. We talked of involvement of India after complete investigation into Dasu and Jauhar town incidents. Pakistan never leveled allegation immediately after occurrence of any incident.

He observed we have complete money trail and record of terrorism in Jauhar Town and Daso. We believe in long term and multidimensional partnership rather time full time relations.
