LG election to be held on Sept 29, in capital: IHC told

ISLAMABAD (National Times) The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday told the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that the local body election in federal capital would be conducted on September 29.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case regarding the matter during which the election officials said that the amendment in the Election Act is also necessary for the local body polls.

The officials said that the matters related to the reserved seats are also not clear. The notification regarding the local body elections will be issued in the next two weeks, they said.

The court remarked that the next hearing of the case would be held after the summer vacation. It, however, said that if there is any problem then the CM should be filed.
The report related to the MCI’s income and expenditure has also been submitted to the court during the hearing.
The court said that the parties should submit their detailed para-wise comments to the court. It said that all the identical petitions have been clubbed for hearing together.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till October 15.
