LAHORE (National Times) Petitions have been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking court’s orders to declare null and void the recovery of additional charges in electricity bills.
Citizen Sheikh Latif Shahid has filed the petition through Ahmad Abdullah Dogar advocate making secretary energy and power division and chairman NEPRA respondents.

The petitioner has taken the plea the day to day growing prices of electricity has made the life of common man miserable. The mosques have been locked due to non payment of electricity bills. Increasing tariff by thousands of rupees on the difference of one unit is illegal. The people have been forced to sell their home appliances due to inflated electricity bills. Government has imposed fix tax illegally on electricity bills.

The petitioner further took the plea people are highly disturbed over inflated electricity bills. The superior courts have declared recovery of taxes illegal.

The petitioner requested the court to declare null and void the recovery of additional charges in electricity bills.
