ISLAMABAD (National Times) Decision has been taken not to remove from service the employees who were appointed in National Assembly (NA) secretariat during the tenure of former speakers NA Asad Qaisar and Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Former special secretary Chaudhry Mubarak and former additional secretary Yasin Saleemi were found involved in the illegal appointment of these employees who misled Asad Qaisar and Raja Pervez Ashraf. Speaker NA Ayyaz Sadiq refused to punish the employees for the mistakes of both of the former officers. However the employees who were promoted against the rules and regulations have been demoted.
According to NA secretariat sources NA speaker Ayyaz Sadiq while taking major step for protection of the employees has decided in principal not to remove the employees from service who were appointed during the tenure of former speakers NA Asad Qaisar and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
Both the former speakers had appointed over 600 employees during their tenure.
Sources said former special secretary Admn Chaudhry Mubarak was found responsible for appointing these employees against rules and regulations. He misled both the speakers and finance committee. Former special secretary administration by passed secretary general Tahir Hussain. Former additional secretary Yasmin Salimi also sided with them in this process. Both the officers have been removed from service.
Later the speaker NA decided not to remove any employee from service after departmental inquiry.
When contacted Speaker NA Ayyaz Sadiq said he cannot punish the employees for the mistake of officers. Already the unemployment is too higher. Terminating the service of any one is not my agenda. Investigations are underway where irregularities have occurred. Those who were promoted against the rules and regulations have been demoted.
