JIT finds ex-minister Qureshi guilty in May 9 cases, files challan with court

LAHORE (National Times) Former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been found guilty by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in seven cases related to the May 9 riots.

Police sources said that the PTI leader was implicated based on conflicting statements and evidence gathered during the investigation.

They noted that Qureshi failed to provide satisfactory answers regarding the May 9 events.

Sources said that Qureshi’s involvement in incidents of arson and violence was supported by digital evidence.

The JIT conducted interrogations of Shah Mehmood Qureshi at Adiala Jail, where he was found guilty in all seven cases.

The team made multiple visits to the jail to record the former minister’s statement.

Subsequently, the JIT filed a challan with the court.
