PML-N Ahsan, Khaqan lash out at NAB

Faisalabad: Former Prime Minister and PML-N senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is not an anti-corruption institution, but a tool for political engineering.
Talking to media men in Faisalabad on Sunday, Khaqan said that his party is not afraid of facing courts. “NAB should thoroughly read those judgments issued by courts in corruption cases against PML-N leaders.” Khaqan said.
Shahid Khaqan visited Faisalabad to condole death of PML-N leader Abid Sher Ali’s wife. “Her demise is a tragedy for family. Especially when Abid Sher Ali is not here. He had booked his return ticket but I told him that he may get arrested if he flies to Pakistan. He wouldn’t get justice here”, Former Prime Minister said.
Talking about LNG case against him, Shahid Khaqan said that it is clearly stated in detailed judgment of Accountability court that neither was it a case within NAB’s jurisdiction, nor I had committed any financial corruption.
On the other hand, PML-N’s senior leader Ahsan Iqbal also took NAB to the cleaners.
Talking to media at Narowal sports city, Ahsan Iqbal said that NAB has become a puppet at the hands of government. The ‘NAB-Niazi’ nexus aims to silence PTI’s political opponents, Ahsan alleged.
Ahsan Iqbal said that NAB has no authority to threaten people.
He said that his party will never be pressurized by such tactics. “Narowal sports city was not my mistake but my pride. Current government has converted the whole project into miserable condition by barring funds”, Ahsan said.
