PEMRA notification regarding ban on court reporting challenged in LHC

LAHORE (National Times) The step by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on imposition of ban on court reporting has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).

Samra Malik advocate has challenged notification of PEMRA in LHC.
PEMRA, Federal government and secretary information have been made respondents in the petition.

The petitioner said notification issued by PEMRA on May 21 is illegal and runs contrary to article 19 and 19-A of the constitution.

The petitioner requested the court to declare PEMRA notification null and void and suspend the notification till final decision of petition.
