Nawaz Sharif files acquittal plea in Toshakhana reference

ISLAMABAD (National Times): PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif has filed acquittal plea in Tosha Khana referecne.

The hearing of Tosha Khana vehicles reference against President Asif Ali Zardari, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Yousuf Raza Gillani took place in Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad Tuesday.

Rana Muhammad Irfan appeared in the court as pleader of Nawaz Sharif and he filed acquittal plea in Tosha Khana vehicles reference on behalf of his client.

Prosecutor said he sends this application to NAB Headquarters.

AC issued notice for May 22 for arguments on the acquittal plea of Nawaz Sharif.

Counsel Arshid Tabrez said president Asif Ali Zardari enjoys presidential immunity. The case cannot run to his extent.

NAB Prosecutor replied application regarding presidential immunity has been received. We are reviewing it.

The court adjourned till June 03 hearing of Toshakhana reference.
