IHC wraps up Faisal Ch petition on statement of NAB prosecutor

ISLAMABAD (National Times): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has wrapped up the petition of Faisal Chaudhry advocate brother of Fawad Chaudhry against summoning by NAB on NAB prosecutor statement.

NAB prosecutor has said the petitioner has joined inquiry. There is no need of arresting him at present.

He gave this statement on Monday.

During the hearing the mention about wheat import inquiry was also made during the hearing of the case.

Justice Ijaz Ishaq Khan inquired from NAB prosecutor These are small matters. Tell when the inquiry into wheat import has to be conducted. On wheat scandal you will hold inquiry perhaps in next government.

A division bench of IHC comprising justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani and justice Ijaz Ishaq Khan took up the case for hearing Monday.

Faisal Chaudhry appeared in the court along with his counsel Ali Bokhari. Prosecutor Rafay Maqsood and others from NAB appeared in the court.

The court inquired from NAB prosecutor has he inquiry against Faisal Chaudhry.

NAB prosecutor told the court yes he has.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani remarked you have declared Faisal Chaudhry accused in call up notice. Say him seller or purchaser in place of accused. Have you to arrest him at inquiry stage.

NAB told that the petitioner has joined the inquiry. Arrest is not needed however now.

The court wrapped up petition of Faisal Chaudhry on the statement of NAB prosecutor.
