Hearing of petition for registration of case against former commissioner RWP adjourned till May 4

RAWALPINDI(National Times): Additional District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi Hakim Khan Bakhar has adjourned till May 4 hearing of the petition seeking registration of case against former commissioner Rawalpindi Liaqat Ali Chatha.

During the hearing of the case Arsalan Ahmad and Zaib Fayyaz counsels for the petitioner filed new petition in the court whereby they had requested to summon commissioner Rawalpindi in person.

The petitioner took the plea that this reply was also given by commissioner on previous hearing while filing power of attorney by him that he is appearing before Election Commission (EC) and other institutions in ongoing inquiry. If this way he is appearing before other institutions then he should have no hesitation to appear before the court so that he could inform the court about the causes of his statement about rigging in recent election. His appearance in person is also must for decision on petition seeking registration of case in this perspective so that the components of the justice could be met.

The court therefore, should order him to appear in person on next hearing.

The court adjourned the hearing of the petition seeking registration of case against former commissioner Rawalpindi till May 4 .
