Two soldiers embrace martyrdom in Buner IBO

BUNER (National Times) Two valiant soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom while killing a high value terrorist Saleem alias Rabbani in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in Buner district on Saturday, the military’s media wing said.

According to the ISPR, Lance Havaldar Mudassar Mehmood and Lance Naik Haseeb Javed, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.

During the operation, the terrorist ringleader, Rabbani, was killed after an intense exchange trade of fire while two other terrorists were injured, the ISPR said in a statement.

Rabbani was actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces, as well as extortion and the targeted killings of innocent civilians, the ISPR said in a statement, adding that he was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies and carried a bounty of Rs5 million for his capture.

As per the statement, Lance Havildar Mudassar Mehmood, 36, was a resident of Rawalpindi and Lance Naik Haseeb Javed, 27, a resident of Poonch, AJK.

A sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists in the area.

The ISPR said that “the security forces remain determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve”.
