Consensus built for ‘smoother running of parliament’: Fawad

Islamabad : Federal Minister for information and broadcasting Fawad Hussain Chaudhary Thursday said that consensus have been built to run the parliament in a smoother manner.
The statement comes after Wednesday’s ruckus in National Assembly during the budget session.
Addressing a press talk outside the Parliament house, Fawad said that a committee will be formed to further empower the speaker. We have requested opposition to revisit their motion of no confidence against speaker.
It is worth mentioning here that the opposition parties on Thursday decided to bring no-confidence motion against National Assembly (NA) deputy speaker Qasim Suri on June 18 in connection with the recently held rumpus.
The Minister said that the meeting between govt and opposition was held in a ‘comfortable manner.’ We don’t want to create such environment that would harm institutions.
Fawad Chaudhary said that ruckus in National Assembly is not un-precedent. Politicians have to face contrition after such incidents. It is the responsibility of party leadership to control their members.
Talking about the motion of no confidence against Speaker, Fawad said that we are not short of numbers. However, we request opposition to step back from its motion of no confidence.
