If some one talks to us on Kashmir issue in honorable way then we are ready to talk: FM

NEWYORK: Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Pakistan stance on Kashmir is very clear and unequivocal that we will talk to those on Kashmir issue who want to talk to us in respectful manner and no bargaining will be made on this issue.

He said this while addressing a ceremony held for Pakistani community in permanent mission of Pakistan in New York.

He held the objective of our visit to US was to raise voice to stop atrocities being perpetrated against the oppressed Palestinians by Israeli forces in the emergency meeting of UN General Assembly. We have succeeded in our first objective in the form of announcement of ceasefire.

He went on to say emergency meeting of OIC foreign ministers executive committee was held in view of the deteriorating situation in Palestine. We evolved a joint strategy in this meeting from the platform of OIC and under this strategy we decided to raise forceful voice in UN General Assembly in support of Palestinians.

There is deep resemblance between the issues of Kashmir and Palestine. Kashmiris are also facing problems like Palestinians. If there is differences between two brothers then you should play your role. We want good relationship with all.

He observed that overseas Pakistani community has potential to play vital role for economic uplift of the country. Betterment of overseas Pakistanis is the top priority of government. The role being played by the overseas Pakistanis is laudable.

We launched E Visa regime for promotion of tourism and trade, he stated. An ambassador cannot do any job alone which can be accomplished with the cooperation of community.
