‘I try to learn from him,’ Babar on Rohit ahead of T20 WC clash

MELBOURNE (National Times) – Pakistan all-format captain and Team India skipper Rohit Sharma talked about the upcoming game against each other in the 2022 T20 World Cup in the press conference held a day before commencement of the mega event in Australia which was attended by all 16 skippers.

While being asked on India-Pakistan clash, Babar began by quoting Rohit as his senior and he tries to learn as much from his skills and experience. “Rohit Sharma is older than me. I try to take as much experience as possible from him as he has been playing for a long time,” said Babar.

On a question about Shaheen Shah Afrid and Fakhar Zaman’s return in the team Babar said that he is happy that both of them are back in the team after gaining fitness.

“Shaheen and Fakhar (Zaman) have come back. We have six days for the first match, so we will utilise these warm-up matches,” he said.

“We Understand the importance of the game, but there s no point in just talking about it all the time and creating pressure on yourself. Whenever we meet (members of the two teams), like recently we did during the Asia Cup before meeting here in Australia, we ask each other How are things at home? , How s the family? and all that. Whenever I meet players from Pakistan, this is what we usually talk about,” Rohit said in a press conference.
