NAB, electoral law to be tabled in joint session of parliament for approval

ISLAMABAD (National Times) – The joint session of the parliament will be held at the Parliament House at 4:00pm today (Thursday) in which National Accountability (Amendment) Bill, 2021 and Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2022 will be tabled for approval, Dunya News reported.

Both the bills have been passed by the National Assembly and the Senate but as the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Ali Alvi has refused to give assent to both ‘NAB and election laws’, the government has decided to pass both the bills in a joint sitting of the Parliament with the majority of votes.

According to the agenda, the bill for the establishment of the National Information Technology Board, bill to establish Pakistan University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies and Protection of Parents Ordinance will also be tabled for approval.

According to sources, a motion to discuss the country s economic situation will also be tabled in the joint sitting of parliament.
