Fake narrative of opposition should be strongly fight back: PM Imran

ISLAMABAD (National Times) – Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday that fake narrative of the opposition should be strongly opposed.

A meeting of government spokespersons was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister and was attended by government ministers, assembly members and senior party leaders.

The prime minister took the participants in confidence on economic situation of the country. Imran Khan and Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen briefed the participants on the Finance (Supplementary) Bill 2021.

The finance minister said that taxes of Rs 2 billion were being exaggerated.

Directing the spokespersons to clear the public of ambiguity regarding the Finance Bill, PM Imran said that the mini-budget could not be communicated effectively to the public, adding that the confusion of public about refunds and rebates should be removed.

He said the public should be informed that the documented economy is in national interest, while agriculture growth and domestic exports have reached the highest level in history.
